Welcome Back to School!  I hope you and your family had a fun and relaxing  summer.  I want to first thank some people who helped organize 3 great events to start off our school year.  The first event was sorting and delivery school supplies to all the classrooms on Sunday, August 11th.   Jenny Malmborg was the organizer of this event.  Along with 15 volunteers and little air-conditioning, these dedicated moms sorted and delivered school supplies with sweat and smiles on their faces.   Second, Amy Essley and Anne King,  who organized the Ice Cream Social  on August 13th, 2013.   Third,  Meg King, who organized the Welcome Back Breakfast for the teachers and staff and the New Family Breakfast on August 16, 2013.  Thank you, thank you, to all of the volunteers who donated time and food to these events.  These events do not run without dedicated volunteers to make them happen.   


            If you did not have a chance to sign up to volunteer at the Ice Cream Social or Parent Night, we still have opportunities to volunteer.  We have one board position open which is Vice President.  We have several chair positions open, such as, Veteran’s Day Celebration, Fundraising Chair, and Valentine Breakfast chair.  We also have some PTO Liaison positions available for some classes.   If you have any interest in these positions, please contact me at snickel@indy.rr.com


             We have some great events coming this Fall.  Jog-A-Thon is coming on Wednesday, September 18th.  This is a great event for families, grandparents and the community to come to the school and cheer on the kids as they walk and run laps to help raise money for their school.  This events helps fund grade level programs, school convocations, teacher/enrichment grants for our school.  If you did not have a chance to sign up, you can still go to http://pvepto.ivolunteer.com/jat2013 or contact Chair Jennifer Pratt at jenjpratt@yahoo.com.   We will be collecting Box Tops, Campbell’s Labels for education, Tyson and Aunt Millie’s/Sunbeam labels to earn money for PVE.  We need volunteers to help count.  The count dates are Wednesday, September 25th from 9-11am and Monday, October 7th from 9-11am at PVE.  If you would like to help or have questions, please contact Ellen Schellhase at ellengar@hotmail.com .  We will also be partnering with the High School on Friday, October 4th to host another PVE Tailgate before the high school football game.  We always need volunteers for this event.  We will need volunteers who like to grill and volunteers who like to serve food.  If you are interested, please contact Misty Byers m_byers@sbcglobal.net or Monet Jensen monetjensen33@gmail.com .  Coming soon, you will find information on Book Fair, Teacher’s Fall Luncheon, Veteran’s Day Celebration and the PVE Food Drive.
